Description
The announcement of Jesus’ birth has inspired countless composers through the centuries to write some of the most beautiful music ever composed. The Leuven University Choir (LUK), performing for the first time under the direction of Sander Le Roy, invites you on a musical journey through time — from the 16th century to the present day — with enchanting a cappella choral music centered around the Great Mystery.
From the restrained sound of the Renaissance to the modern soundscape of the 21st century, each work highlights in its own way the wonder inspired by that great miracle.
Today, Christmas is not only about the birth of Christ, but also about warmth, togetherness, and joy. In a festive second part, LUK presents beloved Christmas carols in swinging, moving, and surprising arrangements.
